CineMusic is a concert show where the audience is treated to an evening of the most beautiful film music, played live by our orchestra. During the show, you will hear music from more than 20 different, world-famous films. From western to animation and from action to romance, everything is included.
In the cinema, everything revolves around the film images and the story; the music seems secondary. In the theater, we reverse the roles and put the music in the spotlight. That doesn’t mean we do without the film images. Above the orchestra hangs the large white screen, on which the most beautiful scenes from each film can be seen. Unique: we choose the film scenes ourselves, so they perfectly match the music. We use original film material, which we are allowed to show under license from the producer. We approach the composition of our clips with integrity and respect and strive to convey the authenticity of the film as faithfully as possible.
The CineMusic Film Orchestra
This film orchestra, led by conductor Henk Ummels, consists of highly professional musicians during the tour, including musicians from the Metropole Orchestra, the Schönberg Ensemble, and The Hague Philharmonic. Section leaders are concertmaster Hester van der Vlugt, Sebastian Ohm (wind instruments) and Ruud Luttikhuizen (rhythm & percussion).
The presenter
The evening is presented by film journalist René Mioch. Between the pieces of music, he talks about his encounters and conversations with composers, actors, and directors and reveals things you would otherwise never have known.
The Core Team
CineMusic is produced by John van der Sluijs (producer), Paul van der Veer (operations manager), Stef Heijnen-Bakker (artistic director), Nathalie Ha (marketing) and the production is in the hands of Sophie Hommes. The arrangements are written by Ton van Grevenbroek, Jos Pijnappel, Edwin Paarlberg, Sebastian Ohm and Henk Ummels. The CineMusic tune is composed by Ton van Grevenbroek.

Prosperity Community
Sustainability is one of our top priorities. Nevertheless, it is inevitable that our concert shows leave an ecological footprint. This includes not only the transportation of our orchestra, instruments, lighting, and set, but also the travel of our visitors to the theater. To minimize this ecological footprint, we have partnered with the Prosperity Community and decided to have a tree planted in a country around the equator for every visitor to CineMusic Films Live in Concert. Read more about Prosperity Community here.
Production
CineMusic Live in Concert would not have been possible without the help of specialists and experts in the field of music, direction, video, light, sound and social media. Our partners ensure that the concert show becomes a breathtaking experience.
Arrangers
The following arrangers have made a significant contribution by arranging the fantastic film music for our large orchestra: Ton van Grevenbroek, Andrew Pearce, Sebastian Ohm, Henk Ummels, Jos Pijnappel and Edwin Paarlberg. The CineMusic tune is composed by Ton van Grevenbroek.

ARTISTIC DIRECTION
The orchestra may be number 1, but the audience’s experience and whether the concert show exudes the right atmosphere are at least as important. From the moment of entry to the first sight of the stage, it must impress the audience. Stef Heijnen-Bakker from studio HB-Staging has been responsible for the art direction and design since 2021. His knowledge, experience and, above all, creativity are of great value to CineMusic.

VIDEO
It is quite a task to create captivating compositions for the film music numbers. After all, how do you summarize a three-and-a-half-hour film into a synopsis of less than 5 minutes? Stephan Vos and Sjoerd Stadt from Foxity take it all in their stride. With their refreshing perspective, knowledge of video technology, and the enthusiasm of their team, they deliver an exceptional performance. This is how you create an experience with video.

SOUND
Playing a large, amplified orchestra in theaters and concert halls is a major challenge. How do you get the acoustics under control in those spaces? Pieter Ratten from P-S-L is a sound engineer pur sang and, together with Lars Diekema, ensures an optimal sound experience of the film music.

CREATION & Communication
For visibility on the street, in the newspaper, with flyers at cultural places and company mailings, we work closely with Maurice Beers from M68. Add to that the construction of an attractive and user-friendly website, and creative communication arises.

TEXTS
For our communication on social media channels, via newsletters, the program booklet, and all other creative expressions in text, we work together with Monique Butter from Tekstbureau Mo.

DIGITAL & SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media is indispensable for promotion. To allow our target group to experience CineMusic Films Live in Concert, Colouring Media works closely with Job Luttikhuizen from CineCreations and Foxity on countless creations and content for stories, reels, and feeds.
