The Bullekerk was well-filled on November 6th. You could see on the faces of the audience beforehand that they were curious about what the CineMusic orchestra would bring. The hall breathed an atmosphere of glamour and glitz: paparazzi outside, the red carpet, champagne upon arrival, and spacious seating with tables. <\/p>\n
From the moment conductor Henk Ummels raised his baton, the audience was captivated. While the orchestra played, film footage was shown on the large screen behind them. Film music from Forrest Gump, The Godfather, James Bond, and Mission Impossible touched the audience almost immediately. Hester van der Vlugt moved the crowd with her beautiful violin playing during Schindler\u2019s List; many a tear was shed. After the intermission, CineMusic continued to surprise the audience with numerous tracks. Dances with Wolves was a standout, making it feel as if the bison were thundering through the theater. Perhaps most impressive was the animated film Jungle Book, where the elephants’ walking pace was perfectly synchronized with the music. This led to a round of applause for the entire production. <\/p>\n
Theater owner Niels Busch was also enthusiastic about the show: \u201cIt doesn’t happen often that people from Zaandam get so excited about a performance, but CineMusic makes it happen!\u201d.
