Amsterdam, September 12, 2025 \u2013 During a festive and sold-out edition of The Night of CineMusic<\/em> in the Concertgebouw, the CineMusic Honorary Rembrandt Award<\/strong> was presented to actor and director Jeroen Krabb\u00e9<\/strong> tonight. He received the lifetime achievement award for everything he has meant and still means to Dutch film. <\/p>\n

Krabb\u00e9 broke through with the classic Soldaat van Oranje<\/em> (Soldier of Orange) and grew into one of the most versatile actors of his generation. His international roles in films such as The Fugitive<\/em> and James Bond<\/em> confirmed his charisma and allure. As a director, he made a deep impression with Left Luggage<\/em> (1998), awarded the Audience Award at the Berlin Film Festival, and with The Discovery of Heaven<\/em> (2001), in which he brought Mulisch’s monumental novel to life. His work is praised for the visual power and personal involvement with which he tells stories. <\/p>\n

Jeroen Krabb\u00e9 was present in the hall with his friends and family and received a minute-long standing ovation from the audience. As a special tribute, the CineMusic orchestra played the iconic music from Soldaat van Oranje<\/em> at the award ceremony \u2013 a moment that visibly made a big impression. <\/p>\n

The award was presented by film journalist Ren\u00e9 Mioch<\/strong>, who himself is celebrating a special anniversary: forty years of making television about film.<\/p>\n

Mioch about the CineMusic Rembrandt Award: \u201cI am extremely happy that, together with CineMusic, we have once again found a platform for this wonderful award. It is primarily a public award, with the Honorary Rembrandt chosen by a professional jury. From next year, the public will be able to vote again. This year we have chosen to only present the Honorary Rembrandt.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The award was created in 1992 by Ren\u00e9 Mioch to give the public a chance to reward their favorites. Within this framework, the CineMusic Honorary Rembrandt Award<\/strong> is a lifetime achievement award given to an artist with a long-term and special contribution to film, series, and film music. <\/p>\n

The Night of CineMusic<\/em> also offered an evening full of film music, performed by the large CineMusic orchestra and choir conducted by Henk Ummels<\/strong>.
