On Friday, September 12, 2025, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam will experience an evening full of film, music, and history. Film journalist and presenter René Mioch celebrates his 40th anniversary in the profession with a spectacular evening of film music: The Night of CineMusic. During this evening, the legendary Rembrandt Award will also be presented again to an icon from the film world. From now on, the award will continue under the name CineMusic Rembrandt Award.
Under the direction of a 55-piece orchestra and a 32-voice choir, CineMusic brings music from twenty world-famous films to life. Images from Harry Potter, James Bond, The Dark Knight, Amélie, Lord of the Rings, and Interstellar, among others, are accompanied live in an unprecedented audiovisual experience. There are also premieres: for the first time in the Netherlands, Ravel’s Bolero can be heard as in Les Uns et Les Autres.
Big comeback Rembrandt Awards
Another highlight of the evening is the return of the Rembrandt Award as the CineMusic Rembrandt Award. The presentation of this lifetime achievement award will take place during the concert, with Mioch himself presenting the award to the winner. “So many wonderful films are being made. It’s time we celebrated them again,” says Mioch.
An evening where film, music and memories come together
Producer John van der Sluijs: “René has been an ambassador for film for forty years. We are proud to be able to create this special evening together with him. CineMusic stands for passion, quality and spectacle – exactly what this evening will radiate.”
