This summer, René Mioch was diagnosed with the Streptococcus mitis bacteria in his bloodstream and on his mitral valve. While he was telling everyone he was on vacation, Mioch spent the past 5 weeks in the OLVG hospital in Amsterdam to undergo heart surgery under the direction of surgeon Riccardo Cocchiri and his amazing team. The operation was successful, and he is now entering a period of recovery.
René Mioch has suspended all work for the coming period. This also means that he will not be seen in the theater for the first few months of The CineMusic Experience tour. Fortunately, we have found a great replacement in presenter and actor Patrick Martens.
Patrick Martens is known from the television program Koffietijd and from films such as Huisvrouwen bestaan niet (2), Rokjesnacht, Hart op de juiste plek, ZOOP films and various Sinterklaas films. He was also a voice actor for the film How to Train Your Dragon. You can hear him as Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III.
When René has recovered, he will of course take over again, but for the coming period we are very happy with the arrival of Patrick!
